Unlocking the Power of African Women to Drive Development.

Africa faces pressing challenges like poverty, inequality, and climate change while working toward the UN’s SDGs and the AU’s Agenda 2063. This discussion will highlight the crucial role of African women leaders, examining their contributions, the opportunities and challenges they encounter, and the strategies driving women’s leadership and empowerment.

This section will examine the challenges facing African women leaders, including cultural and societal barriers, lack of access to education and training, and limited opportunities for career advancement as well as access to finance for business development and employment creation.

This section will provide an overview of the current state of women's leadership in Africa, including statistics on women's representation in politics, business, and civil society; as well as strategies to propel gender inclusivity and equality in politics and governance.

About PIED

The Policy Initiative for Economic Development (PIED), hereinafter called PIED Africa, is an Economic and Policy Think Tank dedicated to providing strategic and competitive insights, as well as constructive alternative policy direction, to governments on the African continent in order to ensure that holistic and pragmatic solutions to improve people’s living standards are implemented.

In view of this, PIED will ensure that policy direction of governments is in congruence with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). PIED shall review the performance of the government in respect of the SDGs periodically. It equally address macroeconomic issues critical in propelling economic growth and development. PIED serve as a credible and reliable platform where critical issues affecting Women, Leadership, industry, businesses and the overall performance of the economy shall be discussed.

As a research-based, non-profit advocacy organization, PIED Africa provides an independent, fact-based, and critical analysis of public policy issues pertaining to trade, finance, investment, education, Women, politics, economy, and technology.
